Distinguish between what I feel about something, and what I think others are feeling about it
It is important for me to distinguish between what I feel about something and what I think others are feeling about it. I know that I am hugely influenced by the perceived opinions of others, and the conscious, intentional part of my brain does not want these potentially false perceptions to influence my logical first-person opinions.
